ReplyDeleteFrom the last 1/4 we had the following remaining:
ReplyDelete4 packages of ground beef
1 Beef Top Round Steak
3 packages of beef soup bones (2 bones in each package)
2 packages of beef stew meat
Clearly we need to have some meat parties throughout the year.
It looks like this year we ended up paying about $4.50 per pound overall. I don't really know how that compares to grocery store prices because different cuts of meat cost different amounts per pound. What I do know is that we paid for some meat that was free range, grass fed, and raised by some friends of ours near town. And it's tasty. :)
Any idea about how many pounds total that all is? It looks yummy! :D
ReplyDeleteI don't have the sheet from the processor handy, but I think it was around 160 pounds or so. That may be 160 pounds before they slice it all up, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be getting part of a cow in a couple weeks. We're starting smaller though to see what we like, then taking the plung in the summer.
