After some research on the web, I have found out that it's a "Ornithogalum longibracteatum", more commonly called a Pregnant Onion. From what I've read, they're supposed to make lots of "babies" that can be grown into new plants. If that's the case, I'm happy to distribute them.
No one is commenting on how phallic this is? Hmmm.... thought I knew this group pretty well... (eg. doesn't look it it's ready to have babies, it looks like it's ready to make some)
What kind of plant is that? I want one!

ReplyDeleteI'll try to find out. The bulb came from Christine's brother a while ago and she's not sure what it is.
