I put my summer performance tires back on last week, foolishly hoping that I wouldn't be in any more snow. So of course on my way home today it starts snowing. With more of the white stuff in the forecast, I decided I better put my winter wheels back on. :( It was fun while it lasted.
hey ryan, I was digging around our garage and the bike let chris keep is a Fuji. Are they anygood? the shimano parts are 212's? I think.
ReplyDeleteI would say Fuji is an average bike. (Not super high quality, but better than some department store thing.) I'm not familiar with Shimano 212, but if I had to guess I'd say it's their low end component group. For example, today Shimano has (in order of low to high quality): 105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace. I think they also have some lower end components too (like Tiagra).
ReplyDeleteDo you know what model the bike is? (Maybe there's a sticker on the frame somewhere.)
Thanks. yeah, that's about what I figured-that was Shimano's low end components of five years ago. I was just curious about how much the shop techs at work are going to tease me about the bike (they are all huge bike snobs in the shop). Also I only just got trained on bikes last week so all I know about now are Novra, Marin, and K2. That's all we sell at our ocation.
ReplyDeleteTurns out are some nice easy bike trails that I can take once we move into the new house so I'm all excited to be able to ride to work. Before I go all crazy and drop $$$ on a new bike, I want to use this one to see if I'll actually ride to work regularly. Luckily it's a step-through model so it fits me.
What do you do to keep the snow out of your helmet? Do you have one of those rain hat-things that go on top?
ReplyDelete(BTW, I was referring to my car tires above)
ReplyDeleteI keep the snow out of my helmet by not riding in the snow. :P Your best bet is probably to get one of those stretchy things that covers the helmet.
hehe. I totally thought you were talking about bike tires and was like, wow, he's a hardcore bike geek. :D
ReplyDeleteYeah. But that sucks, since changing your car tires is harder than changing your bike tires... I think.
