Prague - Part 2: Junior and U23 Cyclocross Worlds

Saturday morning came around and we didn’t really have anything planned so we drove down to Tabor to check out the Cyclocross Worlds course. I’m glad we went down before the “big show” on Sunday because it gave us a chance to figure out how to get there, where to park, and where some good viewing points were located. We also got to watch Fort Collins’ own Skyler Trujillo race in the Junior’s race. It’s cool to have someone local to cheer for at a big event like that.

After the race, we coincidentally ran into a few more people who had made the trip from Fort Collins: Jason (Skyler’s dad), Rob, and Andy. We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out with them, drinking beer, and generally having a good time in the beer tent. I was pretty amazed at the crowd that came out to watch the Junior and U23 races. I think some people are looking for any excuse to have a party.

I saw the Junior World Champion hanging out watching the U23 race. His friends were all bundled up in heavey jackets, but the champion was happy to get a little chilly and show off his new champion’s jersey. I would be to.

A Czech Beatles cover band. They cracked us up with their broken English between songs. Authenticity points for having a left-handed "Paul".
