In bloom

It's no surprise that Christine and I would rather be riding/climbing/running/etc than digging holes in the yard. It's nice, though, that sometimes the hole digging leads to things blooming.

(The lilacs smell great)

Our autumn purple ash isn't blooming, but it's fun to see the new branches growing.

I miss not living close to a lot of lilacs. Did you ever get to the Lilac festival in Rochester?

  2. I made it to the Lilac festival only once unfortunately. But the time they were in bloom, I was usually happy to be getting away from school. :)
I wish our lilacs bloomed all year. They smell so good. I purposely planted them under a window so that hopefully some of the smell would come in.

  3. nice.
we've talked about putting them in our back yard, but haven't done it yet. We lived about a mile from the park in rachacha, so went to the festival a couple times each year.

  4. Purpule Ash Tree
Have you heard about the ash borer insect that is destroying all the ash trees in Ohio, Michigan, etc? There is no cure for it. I hope it doesn't spread all the way to Colorado. If it does, maybe ash wasn't such a good choice.

  5. Beautiful. This year we are working simply on yard clean up (pine needle beds inches deep, weeds, broken boards in our walkway, etc).
